8 Copywriting Tips I Should Have Paid Attention To
Gone are the days where companies would dictate the narrative of their products. Now the consumer has a say in the matter.
That is why copywriting is important. You are not just selling a product which is important yes. But you want to establish a meaningful, long-lasting relationship between the company and the customer/client.
How does that work? How can one become a good copywriter? Here are some tips:
⭐️ Figure out their pain points: Check places like Amazon, Reddit groups etc for more information about the product from the customer’s perspective and note down their observations
⭐️ Observe the competition: Check rival companies and observe the tone andoanguagw that they use in their copy. Check the demographic that they probably did not appeal to and work from there.
⭐️ Use plain English: Write in a language people would understand and easily digest. However, just because you want to relate with the audience does not mean that your message should be chopped and screwed.
⭐️ Create a swipe file: If you are new to the game, create a swipe file of copy samples so that when a client asks for samples, you have something to show them.
⭐️ Practice: Keep on practicing. The more you write, the more better you become at anything.
⭐️ Display empathy: When I say display empathy, I do not mean you should be sappy. Write in a way that people would relate with you. That will take some practice. Even content writers should employ some copywriting techniques into their work
⭐️ Be punctual: Time management is important because there are deadlines involved. Always bear that in mind.
⭐️ Do not be discouraged: Some companies may not like your work as they would feel your writing style does not suit their brand. Don’t feel bad about it. Keep on going.
