Business Lessons from Kang Daniel Part 2

Thought I might continue from where I left off. Now the big challenge for Daniel was continuing his musical career. He had just won that lawsuit. Now the most logical thing for any young artiste is to sign with another more established label.
What did this boy do?
He alongside his lawyers and other people that he knows in the business, came together to create his own record label called Konnect Entertainment.
A lot of people doubted him as he was still new to the business. Okay, his Wanna One years, the Produce 101 era and the experience with his previous label gave him some insight but they still felt that he would bow under pressure within the first couple months and pack up.
He did the exact opposite. He started off small by focusing on just one artiste; himself. That is why it was initially referred to as a one man agency.
He worked and collaborated with different producers and staff in the music industry, experiementing with different musical sounds and style.
His hard work was rewarded with 3 number one albums, breaking sales records along the way and winnigg by a slew of awards.
Yet he remained humble and kind despite all this success.
Trouble began for him when he and the leader of popular girl group Twice, Jintao were revealed to be dating. The couple began dating as far back as 2018 and broke up in November 2018.
The amount of backlash Daniel in particular got from fans was severe but he persevered. The real turning point was when he had to go on hiatus after being diagnosed with depression due to the hate that fans of other Kpop groups gave him for winning an award they believed belonged to their faves.
That hiatus worked in his favour as he would later make a massive comeback with his most successful album to date, Yellow which broke major sales records and made people to pay attention to him.
He also recently signed a partnership deal with CL’s label Very Cherry, making CL the second artiste under Konnect Entertainment. Everyone is looking forward to see CEO Daniel interact with his new signee. We will have to wait and see how that turns out.🤣🤣
He credits his success to his team, family, friends, his former band mates and several other key figures as it is a collaborative effort.
Lessons learned:
⭐️ You cannot please everyone
⭐️ People will always judge what they do not understand
⭐️ Let people doubt you. They will regret it later
⭐️ Mistakes would be made
⭐️ The early stages of any business will not be perfect.
⭐️ Experiment with different ideas till you find what works for you
⭐️ Always find the right people that will support and help your vision come alive
⭐️ When life starts to get to you, take that well-deserved break and come back stronger
⭐️ Always express gratitude to those that stand by you and help you along the way.
